Steps for taking a Sibilant Phoneme Night Registration demonstrated by Dr. Steven Olmos.
☑ Indications would be (OAT) Oral Appliance Therapy for (OSA) Obstructive Sleep Apnea, sport guards for optimal athletic performance, and palliative night appliances for grinding in the absence of apnea.
☑ The purpose of this registration technique is to capture the optimum soft tissue patency of the oropharyngeal and velopharyngeal airway. The velopharynx is the site of greatest narrowing of the airway in patients with OSA.

☑ This is a simple and reproducible technique demonstrated by Dr. Steven Olmos for capturing a bite registration for orthopedic stability and optimal airway.
☑ A daytime registration is necessary for the production of a decompressing appliance of any kind.
☑ The purpose is to provide decompression and to allow for optimal orthopedic function of the temporomandiular joints.
